Just a few months ago, we shared the exciting news that Criteria had acquired Revelian, a leader in game-based and emotional intelligence assessments based in Australia. One of the many great things that Revelian brought to the table was a portfolio of rigorously validated, innovative, and candidate-friendly assessments.
Now we’re beyond excited to announce the official release of Emotify, an emotional intelligence assessment developed by Revelian. The assessment is now available to all of our customers in the U.S. and around the globe. This release marks the first step towards unifying Criteria and Revelian’s test portfolios together.
Emotify is an ability-based measure of emotional intelligence that assesses a candidate’s ability to perceive, understand and manage emotions. It features three engaging, interactive assessments which together take about 20 minutes to complete. The assessment is most applicable to roles that involve a great deal of interpersonal interaction or leadership skills.
Emotional intelligence may seem like a universally known term, but it is a relatively new concept, first popularized in the 1990s. Over time, the concept of emotional intelligence has become increasingly important in the context of the workplace. Research has shown that emotional intelligence, or EI, is associated with important work outcomes such as interpersonal effectiveness, collaboration and teamwork, motivation, and decision-making. And increasingly, strong emotional intelligence has been associated with good leadership and strong management skills.
The need for emotionally intelligent leaders has become even stronger in the last few months. In the midst of a global pandemic, high unemployment, and calls for greater justice and diversity both in and out of the workplace, the demands on the modern employee have changed. What is clear is that the people who are most likely to succeed in the workplace today are those who can demonstrate resilience, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
Emotify is now available to all Criteria customers. To learn more, reach out to your Customer Success Manager, or log in to the Criteria platform to check out the assessment for yourself.
