People & Culture Business Partner (APAC)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the VP of People and Culture, based in Los Angeles, and working as part of a global People & Culture team, the People & Culture Business Partner will partner with APAC leaders to operationalise the People and Culture strategy and initiatives for the APAC region. With multi-sites and remote employees, you will be a key contributor to enhancing the employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.
The People and Culture Business Partner will be responsible for delivering Criteria’s employee onboarding, performance evaluation, culture, wellbeing, engagement, professional development, and diversity and inclusion strategies in APAC region, as well as providing generalist HR support, overseeing APAC compliance and risk management and providing legislative advice to employees and people managers. The incumbent will also be responsible for mentoring and overseeing the APAC People and Culture Coordinator.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
To be successful in this role the incumbent will demonstrate the following:
- Degree qualification in Human Resources or related field
- 5+ years’ generalist HR Experience, preferably as part of a global P&C team
- Superior understanding of the Fair Work Act 2009, Awards, and other relevant legislation including: Privacy, Workplace Health and Safety and Anti-Discrimination.
- Driven, with a strong desire to develop new initiatives and projects as part of a global team
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable and resilient
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders
- Professional and polished approach, with the ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
People and Culture
- Contribute to global People Strategy, and operationalising strategy in APAC region
- Facilitate performance review, performance management and improvement processes, providing advice and influencing decision making to drive successful HR and business outcomes on people management issues as required
- Become a trusted partner to APAC senior leaders in all employee issues including providing legislative advice, best practice and risk management guidance
- Proactively review all processes and procedures and provide policy advice to reduce risk to Criteria APAC region.
- Proactively coordinate the development and communication of HR policy and procedures for APAC region in consultation with the global P&C team.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives including reward and recognition and other activities
- Champion Diversity & Inclusion initiatives
- Assist the P&C Coordinator to provide an outstanding orientation and onboarding experience for new employees, and a positive offboarding experience for exiting employees
- Assist in maintaining HR systems and supporting technologies / tools
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive organisational culture by role modelling Criteria values and behaviours
- Provide reporting on key HR metrics and initiatives
- Provide support to employees via the Employee Assistance Program
- Assist with grievances, complaints and investigations
- Assist with salary benchmarking and remuneration reviews for APAC region
- Coordinate internal and external professional development opportunities and programs for Criteria APAC employees
- Manage all aspects of WHS management system to ensure safety of employees and compliance
- Manage WH&S injury and hazard investigations, Workcover claims, suitable duties plans and return to work
- Create key HR documentation including position descriptions, contracts and performance documentation
- Contribute to other HR projects and activities to support the business as required
Payroll
- Work with the APAC payroll team to provide advice on payroll matters including Award classifications and compliance
- Check fortnightly APAC payroll to ensure compliance and accuracy
General
- Provide mentoring and training to the People and Culture Coordinator to continue to enhance their skills and capabilities
- Keep legislative and HR trend knowledge up to date and make recommendations for changes.
- Undertake other reasonable tasks consistent with skills, qualifications and experience, as may be required from time to time.
